Me as a Trainer
My passion is teaching and training children. I currently teach a 3/4 grade combo class at St Isidore Catholic School, a kid’s class at IQ Fit, coach distance runners at YCHS, and coach my own cross-country running club called the Roadrunners. I have also been teaching swimming lessons for over 40 years. My training philosophy is simple- build a strong rapport of trust and respect. I want the children I train to feel safe and comfortable with me. I want them to be able to ask questions and not be afraid to make a mistake. When kids know you love them miracles can happen.
My Story
My fitness journey started in my thirties. One of my goals was to compete in an Ironman Triathlon. I had never run more than one mile, so I slowly worked myself up to three miles on the treadmill. Before I knew it, I was running 5Ks and 10Ks. I met an amazing community of runners and in less than a year I completed my first marathon. I have finished 21 marathons, one full Ironman, three half Ironman triathlons, two 50Ks, two Escape from Alcatraz triathlons, and many other challenging events. I love to move my body every day
Why I Became a Trainer
I decided to become a trainer because I enjoy both fitness and children and paired them together for the perfect job. I also enjoy encouraging and motivating others, especially kids.
